Marlpits Windmill, Nutley

From A22 at the north end of Nutley village, take the Crowborough road east for about 1 mile.
Car park is on left. Mill is ¼ mile walk from car park. Follow signs on open days.
An open trestle post mill, the oldest working windmill in Sussex, dates from the late 17th century,
although only on this site since 1840. Post dated 1533. Last worked commercially in 1908, but restored
to workable order in 1968-72. Now mills flour on one day each October.
Opening times 2016 March to September, last Sunday in the month, 10.00-17.30. Parties at other times by appointment. Also most Wednesdays when working party is at mill 11.00 - 15.00.
