By B1037, half mile east of Cromer, 1 mile west of Cottered.

A white weatherboarded post mill, with black breast and roof; and a brick roundhouse. The last surviving windmill in Hertfordshire. The mill was built in 1681 (verified by dendrochronology), and has two pairs of stones. Restoration was carried out in stages from 1967 to 1998 with grants from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Does not grind, but sails turn and machinery idles when wind is right. Owned by Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust.
