From A27/A2038 junction on the Brighton bypass, take A2038 for about three quarters of a mile and turn left at lights. The mill is in Holmes Avenue.

An unusual 6-sided smock mill, built around 1820 on a tall flint and brick tower with abutting barns. Much internal machinery remains as the heart of a fascinating museum of milling and agricultural history. Exhibits include models of other Sussex mills and machinery from them. Refreshments and souvenirs.

May to September, Sundays & bank holidays 14.30-17.00. Parties by arrangement.

National Mills Weekend opening times 2018
Sunday only, 11.00-17.00. Special displays; Stationary Engines, Exhibition of model locos, Radio operators broadcasting in the exhibition room, Hand-made mosaics, Craft stalls, 2nd hand books and jigsaws, 'Good as new' stall, 'Hook a duck' and Kiddies Fun stall and other attractions
The Black Powder Morris will be dancing at 2.30 pm
