Chesterton Windmill

Between Warwick & Banbury, 1.5 miles NE of A41, at roundabout 7 miles from Warwick.

A unique stone windmill, built on a circular arcade with six columns. Built in 1632-3 for Sir Edward Peyto, a local landowner. The mill worked until 1910. It contains wooden machinery including a lantern pinion and two pairs of millstones. Restored in 1971, and in the care of Warwickshire County Council.

Opening times 2016
Apart from National Mills Weekend, Chesterton Windmill will open on one further weekend  in 2016,  on September 10th & 11th, from 10.30-16.00 (last admission 15.30) More details can be found on the mill's special Midland Mills Group Facebook page
Admission is free; donations welcome. Stalls and refreshments available.
