On A966 to Brough Head, 20 miles N of Kirkwall.

The mill was built in 1873, and worked commercially until 1992. It is a 3-storey stone building with a kiln at one end and three pairs of millstones. Most machinery is original, and is driven from the wood and iron waterwheel. Various grades of oatmeal are made, as well as bere meal, made from an early form of barley and some wheat.

Opening Times
May to September, daily, 10.00 – 13.00, and 14.00- 17.00. Parties at other times by arrangement.

Saturday & Sunday, 10.00 - 13.00 & 14.00 - 17.00.
